The support behind the support
04 Sep 2009 Effective support functions ensure the smooth running of organisations worldwide: behind every busy switchboard is an efficient receptionist and beside every overstretched Director, an organised PA. So whilst they support the business, who supports them?
There are a number of oganisations and associations that have been set up across the UK to offer guidance and advice to professionals within support functions. The most widely known of these is the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), which offers advice surrounding qualifications for HR and development professionals.
Lesser known organisations include The Institute of Professional Administrators (IPA), which offers training, qualifications and communications to administrative and office professionals, and The Association of Personal Assistants (APA), which offers advice and techniques to enhance the support that PA's receive; ensuring that they stay ahead of the game.
There are a number of resources available and we’d be more than happy to offer you guidance with any staffing and recruitment questions you might have.
